Campus Dining Services is proud to be one of the largest employers of students on the campus. As of last Saturday we had 506 students in our employ. You and the students you work with are one of the biggest resources we have, which makes you vital to our success. We want to say “Thank you for all your hard work and dedication this year!”
This year also marks the Thirteenth Anniversary of the Campus Dining Services’ Student Employee Scholarship Program! To date, Campus Dining Services has awarded 114 scholarships for a total of $49,600.
This year we invited 6 faculty and staff members to be our judges and select our scholarship recipients.

Kendra Baker Mark Twain Market Elementary Education
Kendra is a freshman, and has worked with Mark Twain Market since September 2008. Kendra is an Elementary Education major and plans to teach when she receives her degree.
David Beach Plaza 900 Accounting
David is a sophomore, studying Accounting. David began working at Plaza 900 in June 2008, and was promoted to a Student Supervisor position in August of 2008. David typically works 15-20 hours per week, is on the Dean’s list, is an active member of the American Diabetes Association, a member of his church band and an Eagle Scout.
Daniel Beerman Eva J’s Civil Engineering
Dan is a sophomore and has worked with Eva J’s for the past two semesters, while pursuing course work in Civil and Environmental Engineering and also working as a student researcher, testing water quality in experimental bioreactors. Dan is active with the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, is an Eagle Scout and serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America.
Rory Faust Truman’s Takeout Finance
Rory began working at Brady Food Court in Sept. 2008 and served as part of the transition team that opened Truman’s Takeout in Jan. 2009. Rory is a sophomore majoring in Finance. He is active with the Mizzou Volleyball Club and the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. Rory has made the Dean’s List each semester and is a Bright Flight scholar.
Kathryn Leskee Rollins Business
Kate is a Student Manager working at Rollins hall since August 2007. She is also a sophomore, recently transferred into the school of Business, and plans a career in Human Resources. Kate has been active with the Meteorology Club and with Girl Scouts of America, assisting with trip planning for both national and international jamborees.
Yoon-Chee Pak Mizzou Market/Bookmark Cafe Industrial Engineering
This is Yoon-Chee’s second tour of duty with Campus Dining Services. She worked with us from 2001-2003 at Applause Coffeehouse and is now back working on her master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and working at Mizzou Market Hitt Street and Bookmark Cafe since August 2008. Yoon-Chee is also on the Dean’s List and active with the Malaysian Student Association.
Christi Stewart CDS Admin. Office Dietetics
Christi is a sophomore majoring in Dietetics and has worked as our departmental Nutrition Student Assistant since October 2008. Christi serves as the Internal Social Chair for the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, is on the Student Athletic Board, and is a choreographer and member of the Golden Girls Dance Team, as well as a Dean’s List scholar.
Jessica Toombs Plaza 900 Agricultural Education
Jessica is a Student Supervisor at Plaza 900 and has worked with us since August 2007. A junior majoring in Agricultural Education, Jessica is on the Dean’s List, a member Alpha Tau Alpha and the Agricultural Education Society assisting with the Study Abroad Ambassadors program, and a member of the Student Development Board for the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
We would now like to recognize our 2009 Campus Dining Services’ Student Employee of the Year, Ben Weis. Ben works as a student manager at Mizzou Market Southwest and is a Business major. Ben began working with CDS in August 2007. He is active in hiring and scheduling the student team members at Mizzou Markets. Ben has been instrumental in developing the MICROS point of sale system for Mizzou Markets, assisted in developing inventory methods and procedures for the markets, and assists in updating the product mix and selecting new product lines to meet customer needs. This year we are pleased to award a $1,000 scholarship to our Student Employee of the Year.
